Oi! (hello in Portuguese) We are stoked on the World Cup this year, especially since we have a new 80" TV in the bar and lounge to watch our favorite (USA) teams dominate some soccer! We will be posting a schedule of the games every week, so the following is the opening game on Thursday June 12 through Sunday's schedule. Stay tuned for specials we will run during certain games and for a weekly schedule through the World Cup!
Happy Memorial Day from Tahoe South! This is one of our favorite weekends of the year; we get to share our favored mountain town with tourists that visit from near and far, everyone is happy, the beer is cold and summer is in arm's distance. More importantly, we extend our gratitude to all those who have served our country and are the true cornerstones of America. Today we celebrate them. Here at Riva Grill we would also like to extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends who lost their most loved and far to young people in the Isla Vista shooting. Below are some of our favorite photos of Lake Tahoe and should be reasons you make Tahoe South your next vacation. Enjoy! I am the Earth And the Earth is me. Each blade of grass, Each honey tree, Each bit of mud, And stick and stone Is blood and muscle, Skin and bone.
And just as I Need every bit Of me to make My body fit, So Earth needs Grass and stone and tree And things that grow here Naturally. That’s why we Celebrate this day. That’s why across The world we say: As long as life, As dear, as free, I am the Earth And the Earth is me. Earth Day by Jane Yolen Anyone who has experienced 4th of July or Labor Day fireworks show in South Lake Tahoe knows that the magic is infectious; it is an experience not to miss. The lawsuit against the Lake Tahoe Visitors Association to no longer allow the fireworks show was a devastating thought. The fear crept on locals and tourists alike that the beloved show would soon become a distant memory, however, the lawsuit filed by the Truxler family was settled this week and furthermore set off fireworks in the hearts of those who love and look forward to the show year after year. We could not be more thrilled and cannot wait to celebrate America's independence with starry eyes and a Wet Woody in hand!
View more details on the lawsuit here: http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/lawsuit-resolved-lake-tahoe-4th-july-fireworks In effort to mock the weather Tahoe has been experiencing this winter we hosted a pray for snow party, beach style! Happy hour was makin' people happy, Wet Woodys were flying, hula hoops-a-hulaing, and alas Tahoe was blanketed with feet of SNOW! It worked! Thank you for everyone who came, we look forward to repeating this party in winters to come.
Congratulations to South Lake Tahoe for being voted the #1 ski destination in North America!

With the second Fish Taco Friday under our belts it's safe to say we haven't lost our mojo since last season. As it turns out, our fish tacos have changed from Basa to Snapper, Wet Woody's are still making it easier to break the ice and everyone still likes winning snowboards. Who knew? The good news is that we have 14 more weeks to go! The bad news is that we only have 14 weeks to go; hence, pray for snow! We love the camaraderie of visitors and locals alike that make Fish Taco Friday the liveliest event on South Shore, so snow or no snow, the show will go on every Friday from 6:30 to 10. We hope to see you again next week!
With Christmas just four days away, where do you plan on eating Christmas dinner? Come one, come all to Riva Grill with the friendliest staff, best food and holiday cheer!
